Gold BJJ Jiu Jitsu Gi
Minimalism at its finest, the Gold BJJ Gi is definitely one of the best looking BJJ Gis you’ll find on the market. The Gi comes in four clean colors where the white and black are IBJJF approved. We particularly love the grey one because it has a hint of color but it’s muted enough to not call for too much attention. There’s the brand’s signature “G” logo on the upper side of the left arm and that’s all about the design. There are long stiches going down the hem of the pants that look quite nice and similar ones across the chest. There are two other logos/writing on the pant but they don’t take away anything from the aesthetics.
Pros:
- Light and breathable fabric
- Gold weave construction
- Reinforced stitching across the body
- Four colors to pick from
Cons:
- Expensive
Hayabusa Lightweight Jiu Jitsu Gi
If you want to feel like a true BJJ master, this Gi might just make you feel like one! At the top the fabric is cotton, whereas at the bottom the fabric is a blend of cotton and polyester. Two plastic pads with the word “Hayabusa” is stitched across the shoulders. Although, you might think it’s too flashy, but it’s not that noticeable. Thinner strips of the same plastic pads go across the hem of the top while the Hayabusa pad returns for the pants, stuck on the sides. There’s their brand’s logo on the left portion of the chest area- a bird with broad stripes across it. Overall, just a standard looking Gi that achieves what it was made for.
Pros:
- Sophisticated design
- Huge range of colors to choose from
- Doesn’t bleed color
- Good fabric
Cons:
- Not true to size
SENSO JIU JITSU Aizome Blue BJJ Gi
If you’re someone who is bored of the conventional BJJ Gi and the “plain” and “generic” designs and patterns, the SENSO JIU JITSU Aizome gi is definitely the one for you. With a unique design and elegant color selection, the Gi definitely sets itself apart from the rest.
On the blue fabric, the stitching is done with white thread which looks quite good. Unlike the other brands that try to be a bit more conservative with their logo, Senso indents themselves in block letters in a Y shaped pattern across the chest. There are also those typical name pads on both upper sides of the arm region and the small bit of pad attached on the edge. Five claw-shaped marks come in a little close near the waist, which we can only assume was there to give you a more cinched look. The pants feature parallel stitching from the thighs to the knees.
Pros:
- Unique design
- Great color selection
- Fabric doesn’t shrink
- Slim fit reinforced knee pads
Cons:
- The “Senso” logo might be a bit all over the place for some
Fuji – 5703- Suparaito BJJ Gi
The Fuji Suparaito BJJ Gi does look like most other Gis on the market, but the small details make it stand apart from the crowd.
Like the SENSO, this one features white stitching over the black body and they go in two circular rounds around the neck. A simple FUJI logo is printed on the upper left side of the arm in white. One more logo, this time resembling a wave is printed on the bottom left corner of the jacket and the typical round of the logo along the ends of the top. The pants are kept super simple; few long lines of stiches and a medium sized logo on the bottom right side of the pants. There’s a pretty distracting tag behind the neck but that’s not noticeable.
Pros:
- Standard design
- IBJJF, NABJJF, and UAEJJF approved
- Stiff color design for durability
- Super lightweight
Cons:
- Expensive
Venum Contender 2.0 BJJ Gi
We’re just going to go ahead and say it – the Venum Contender 2.0 BJJ Gi looks cool. That’s it. There’s nothing much going on and the color selection is basic, but the Gi looks amazing on the body.
There are five colors to choose from – black, blue, navy blue, grey, and white. White is our personal favorite. The word “Venum” is printed along the left side of the neckline in a very gothic, calligraphic font. There’s a design that vividly reminds us of the alien’s mask from the movie Battleship. Don’t worry, it looks super cool! On white, the designs are colored black and the black jacket has everything similar with an off-white accent. Additionally, there’s one last piece of Venum logo at the edge of the jacket that you would find in any other Gi.
Pros:
- EVA foam soft collar
- Classy color combinations
- Not too distracting designs
- Flexible
Cons:
- Not as durable as others on the list
Vector Sports BJJ Gi
The Vector Sports BJJ Gi is a unisex option that impresses with the color selections and accent choices.
There are five options to pick from: white, black, navy, grey, and blue. We particularly love the navy and the black. On the upper left side of the chest, there’s a unique “V” logo. The navy-blue jacket features baby blue stitching across the chest, on the collar, across the waist, and cuffs. The black jacket comes with red accents on the stitching but a plain white “V”. All the belts are black with small plastic tips with the word “vector” embossed. Comfort has been made a primary concern too and the fabric is 100% cotton that’s been preshrunk so you don’t face size issues.
Pros:
- Easy to wash
- Reinforced stitching in pressure points
- Great color selection
- IBJJF approved
Cons:
- The fabric is quite thin
Fuji – Submit Everyone Jiu-Jitsu Gi
Fuji always comes out with some of the best Gis that don’t skim out on style. For the ones who love simpler designs, Fuji products will be your top choice.
There’s a woven die cut FUJI patch on the collar; white over the otherwise black jacket. In accordance with their brand, there’s an illustration of Mount Fujiyama on the left side of the back and bicep region of the right hand. We didn’t like the orange patch of color on the full black belt but that’s not that distracting. A white lining runs across the edges.
Pros:
- Good fabric and construction
- IBJJF, NABJJF, and UAEJJF approved
- Remarkable fit
Cons:
- On the pricey side
Your Jiu Jitsu Gear
Okay, enough of patches! What do you do when you want something completely blank – no logos, no patches? Well, the Your Jiu Jitsu gear is here to be yours!
The 350 fabric is super lightweight devoid of any brand advertising. The brand doesn’t believe in making you a free billboard to advertise their products and we can totally respect that. Some brands do go overboard with the patches, and if that annoys you, then why not this? A completely customizable Gi that’s comfortable and soft. There’s one tiny patch on the leggings but that’s it. You can decide whether you want patches on to support your school. Some schools won’t appreciate you wearing jackets with too many logos on it. Solid colors, reinforced stitching, and amazing fitting earns this Gi a mention on our list for best looking BJJ Gi.
Pros:
- Customizable design
- Tons of size options
- Great value for money
- Well-made
Cons:
- Heavier against the skin
Bottom Line
Regardless of which one you go for, these BJJ Gis will make you feel and look the very best. Of course, colors are a big part of the selection and you have to prioritize practicality over everything else, but there are options where you’ll get the best of both worlds. But hey! Style is totally a personal thing. So, if you like something that’s flashy, kind of in-your-face, or something with nothing at all, go for it! Train hard with the best BJJ Gi on!
